Brushing Off The Dust
Well I haven't used my site on Blogger since it's inception in 2003. Almost 3 years later I am posting here after a few months of non-activity on the regular site (LatinoPundit), which was updated daily - sometimes even a few times a day - but due to a combination of technical difficulties and blogger burnout I stopped. Yes, even a labor of love can seem to turn into a chore if one is not careful to pace oneself.
Besides getting past the technical aspect of putting the site live again there comes the supportive issues. Like where have the visitors who once had read LatinoPundit consistently gone? Did they revert to the old media or did another Latino blog fill my shoes or was the traffic swapped between a number of Latino bloggers? More importantly can the site regain it's once favored status of a top Latino blog? And can the site regain it's status among other peer blogs it had once enjoined? Simple answer is that I remain positive and motivated for both conventional blog techniques and unconventional new lateral approaches have been devised in the downtime.
A few days here and hopefully with tech support and maybe an upgrade on the Moveable Type software the site will be ready to go again. Later, the site must be revamped to compliment the reinvented stage and then it would be onward and upward. So, let's say this is practice, or better a warm-up to future posts on the live site. For after years of blogging, I don't think one needs practice (if they are any good at all), but needs to grease the gears so to speak. I would be really amazed if someone who read me before stumbled across this post - that would be truly amazing!!! - but with the web being as big as it is and with all of it's tools and tricks it wouldn't be impossible.
